- Internet marketers say 'Sorry for the spam!', apologize for their part
in turning the internet into a cesspool; offer to send money to people
they've pissed off.
- comp.os.windows.advocacy: "Windows, MAC, OS/2... what's the big deal?
It's just a metal box."
- Prominent comp.ai flakes decide their theories about intelligence are
inane, announcing "Maybe we should go catch up on the last hundred years
of psychology". Says one, "You know, this ASCII diagram of how the mind
works that I keep posting is really pretty silly."
- Microsoft's Bill Gates admits, "Yeah, OK, maybe some of our products
do have bugs."
- On gnu.emacs, Richard Stallman publicly expresses doubt, and then, late
in the day, changes his mind on something.
- talk.bizarre: "Usenet's been around a really long time. It probably
won't die anytime soon."
